Cherry Blossoms!

The cherry blossoms are blooming in Tokyo and the world is beautiful again!

Before I went to Japan, I didn't know anything about cherry blossoms. The first I heard about them was from my colleagues in Japan. They mentioned that the flowers bloom for a week once it becomes warm in Japan, and I was like ok - how come people are so excited about flowers?

But then came April 2012 and I was fortunate enough to be around for the cherry blossom season. It is like nothing I have ever seen. So beautiful, so mesmerising! I thanked God that I was around for when the cherry blossoms bloomed - I flew back to India a week after that - 6 months after I had landed in Japan.

The thing about cherry blossoms is that you can never predict when they will bloom. And they only last a week. So people who do not live in Japan, should consider themselves lucky if they are around when the cherry blossoms bloom. Take this year for example - the cherry blossoms are already blooming and will be gone next week. While last year, they bloomed only at the end of April.

So anyways, please see the pics below and let me know what you think of the cherry blossoms :)

Yup thats me. So happy to be among the cherry blossoms! :)
