Gorgeous dresses at Lululike

Its 2.5 years since Varaa came into my life and at last I have almost recovered my figure. I know that sounds like a long time, but it has been a journey of ups and downs. Since I have been naturally thin all of my life, actually thinking about my weight was a big thing for me :-)

Outfit of the Day - Boho

Hello Everyone! I am back after a very long break. I can't believe I have been away so long. But looking after a toddler single handed (except weekends) takes up all my time. Even when Varaa's dad is around during the weekends, she still wants mommy at her beck and call :-D 

Thankfully I did get time to take pics during the last 8 months and so I can now get back to blogging with quite some OOTDs available :-) Am hoping I can now stick to regular blogging (once Varaa is off to bed!)

In today's outfit, I paired a maxi dress with a traditional necklace and white sandals. To give it an Indian twist, I added a bindi as well. I like how well the bindi looks with this dress :-)

Get the latest trends at Yoins

As I have mentioned before, discovering and browsing new websites has become somewhat of a hobby and a necessity with me. And when I find a website that stocks the best of the latest trends, then its celebration time! :-)

Outfit of the Day - Orange!

When I saw this dress online, I fell in love with the color. Yes, its a very eye-catching color but then I have a love for bright colors. And when I put on the dress, I just knew that I should pair it with the colorful necklace that my mother had gifted. I added a pair of gold sandals to neutralize all that color and I was done :-)

Newchic Wishlist

Like I mentioned in my previous post, with a active toddler to look after, all my shopping happens online. And I recently found a new website called Newchic.com. Outfit of the Day - Retro

After another long break, I am back with another outfit post :-) Time is more and more constrained but I am making a go at steady blogging!

Once Varaa turned 1 year, I suddenly put on a lot of weight :-( Don't know why, cause I had reached my pre-pregnancy weight within 2 months of delivery. But suddenly over the last few months I have bloated up! I am trying to find time to exercise and get back to my previous weight, but till that happens (will take sometime since I am against crash dieting and don't have time to exercise regularly) I needed new clothes!

So recently I have been shopping a lot online and today's dress is a result of that shopping.

I love the retro sleeves on this dress and given the dark colour, I paired it with pale pink heels and a cream purse. Added a pair of danglers and got myself a bit of a retro look :-)

Outfit of the Day - Pop of red

Hello peeps! I have been away so long! I have missed blogging so much but just could not get the time to blog. Running around behind a toddler, who gets more active everyday, is really exhausting! Every night when Varaa goes to bed, I just zonk out next to her :D Seriously it is like they show in the ads, exhausted mom fast asleep beside a little angel - that's me!

Anyways, I am trying to get some time out for blogging. Having quit my job after Varaa came, I sometimes find that I have lost myself in being a mother. Don't get me wrong, I love being Varaa's mom, but I do miss my carefree life where I could do anything I wanted without thinking of anything or anyone :-) Blogging helps me regain a part of me.

To get back to the post, I bought this dress recently from Zara as I have always loved maxi dresses and this was like just perfect! Given the earthy tones of the dress, I decided to add a pop of colour with red pumps, a red bag and red lips.

Hello peeps! I am back with an outfit post after a long time! My darling Varaa has been taking up so much of my time that I just could not click any pics :-D But at last managed some while she was taking a nap ;-)

This off shoulder blue striped dress is a recent purchase during the August sales. I love the simple and elegant lines of the dress and so decided to keep the whole outfit simple. I paired the dress with a pair of gold earrings and gold heels and that's it.

Fantastic jumpsuits at Stylewe

I recently went shopping at just the end of the sale season .... after more than a year! And it felt so good! :-D The reason for the shopping break was of course my little angel. But now that she has grown, I found some me time and gave myself a treat :-)

One of the items I purchased is a jumpsuit, my first one. I never thought a jumpsuit could look good on me given my petite structure. So I was very pleasantly surprised to get one in my size and also one that made me look tall!

Beautiful communion dresses

First communion is such a special occasion. I am not a Christian, but I have quite a few Christian friends and I know how important they consider it to be. They celebrate it as a festive occasion with a gathering of the family and a party to celebrate the event.

During a first communion, girls wear white communion dresses which are very special. They also wear a veil attached to a headdress as well white gloves. Seeing little girls in such lovely dresses, I decided to search online and see whether I could get a nice white dress for Varaa. We might not celebrate communion, but I would love to dress up Varaa in communion dresses.

So searching for first communion dresses, I came across the website - Mariacommunion. They have the prettiest holy communion dresses for little girls. The collection is so fantastic, that I am quite tempted to order a lot of dresses for Varaa. Am just waiting for my little angel to grow up a bit and start walking on her own. Outfit post - Varaa's wardrobe :)

And I have again been gone a long time. With a little angel who needs all my attention and who exhausts me completely so that her bedtime becomes mine, blogging has become difficult. But since this is something I love, I will continue somehow :)


While Varaa has already debuted on the blog, I thought it was time to showcase her wardrobe here as well :-) She is 8 months old, but due to the monsoons, I do not take her out much. And she currently lives in shirts, pants and socks; or onsies with full sleeves.

But for going out before the monsoons, I used to put her in a simple frock and socks. So her wardrobe mainly consists of frocks.

Since Varaa has very little hair currently, she looks like a boy. So despite having her ears pierced and though she is in frocks, most people think she is a boy! And my reaction is generally like Rachel's - want to punch the person (Friends fans will understand this ;-)) I am seriously thinking of putting a pink bow on her :D

Outfit of the Day - Formal to Party

As I mentioned in the previous post, in this post, I converted my formal outfit into party wear by changing some accessories. So in case I need to attend a party straight from office, I am all set!

I removed the jacket and pearl necklace from the formal outfit and instead added silver danglers. I swapped the red purse for a white clutch and changed into silver heels and I was done!

Color in Formals - After pregnancy

Hello peeps! While I resumed blogging in March of this year, I have till date been sharing old pics taken during or before pregnancy. This is the first photo shoot after pregnancy and I was so happy to get back to doing OOTDs! :-)

Since Varaa is still quite small, I do not go out much. And when I do go out, it is more about getting Varaa ready and me just grabbing any old thing lying around. So it was a pleasure to again dress up and think about what accessories to wear. 

I wore the shift dress in this post during pregnancy till the seventh month and now it is useful for hiding the post pregnancy fat ;-) For wearing it to the office, I paired it with a cream lace jacket, a pearl necklace and grey pumps. Added a light pink gloss and I was done. And the pop of color from the red purse. Love the elegance that a string of pearls can add to any outfit!

I will also be doing a post on how to convert this outfit into a party outfit if you need to attend a party after office. For now, I hope you like this OOTD. Do let me know in the comments!

Its springtime! And while looking at the lovely flowers from my window (will share pics of those in another post), I thought this is the perfect time for a wedding :-) It would be so gorgeous to have an outdoor wedding under these beautiful flowers. Would be like a dream wedding. And thinking of weddings, I decided to visit the Cocomelody website to check out the dresses available there.

Shower time with Beddinginn

I have visited so many places, stayed in so many hotels and bunked in with so many friends. And one of the things I have noticed at all these places, are the different types of shower curtains in the bathrooms :-) Some are plain, some are funny, some are elegant and some are weird :D

So when I came across Beddinginn.com, I was very interested in checking out the shower curtains available on the website. Guest post: Featuring Mansi again

Mansi featured on my blog quite a long time ago, almost 2 years ago! Well, she is back again ... and this time with her family which includes her husband Bhavesh and her cute little kids - Krisheev and Aavishka :-)

Mansi is one of my role models, when it comes to work and also when it comes to raising kids. Now that I have Varaa, I constantly call her up to take advice on all baby stuff :-) In addition to all this, she also has a great sense of style which comes through in the below pics. 

These pics were taken on the occasion of Aavishka's first birthday and the destination is Kurumba Resorst in Maldives. That reminds me, Mansi is my role model when it comes to travel as well :D

So tell me, aren't they like the cutest family? I love the way they have coordinated the girl boy dresses - with Aavishka and Mansi having the headband in common, and Krisheev and Bhavesh wearing the exact same clothes. And the braid on Mansi is the perfect way to highlight the headband.

My mommy day gift :-)

May 8th was my first Mommy day. Though I have been with Varaa for more than 5 months now, it still was a small shock to suddenly realize that I was a mommy for the rest of my life :-) I know that sounds ridiculous, but I am still sometimes surprised to discover that I have this incredible gift from God and that I am her mommy!

So this mommy day, I got a cute little card from my little princess and also a box of my favorite sweets. I have put up the pics of the card below. Unfortunately, I ate up the sweets and forgot to take pics :D
