Kendra's Miami fashion challenge

Last month, I was contacted by Kendra Thornton to participate in her fashion challenge. Kendra Thornton is a well known travel expert who has been featured on several news channels and shows such as Tyra Banks and Nate Berkus. 

Kendra is planning a trip with her husband to Miami, South Florida. This is her much needed and awaited romantic getaway and she needed some up to date fashion guidance. Her style mantra is glamorous yet chic. Kendra has planned her trip with help from the friendly travel experts at Gogobot and has selected the perfect hotel - Hotel Beaux Arts Miami. Hotel Beaux Arts is an ultra-modern hotel with 39 stories and features many exclusive modern amenities. On the premises, guests can enjoy the Mariano Bartolome Indoor golf School or relax and enjoy rejuvenating treatments at the exclusive Enliven Salon and Spa. Guests can also have a fine-dining experience at db Bistro Moderne.

Keeping in mind the destination and the hotel and Kendra's golden beauty, I have come up with the below three looks:

So my group of friends met up for lunch again after our meeting at Mai Tai a couple of months back. We decided to meet at Mamagoto in Bandra. Mamagoto has an extensive menu with lots of choices. All of us love the food there!

As always, it was a lot of giggling and laughing, swapping stories, pulling each other's legs and wolfing down the food. Its always so good to catch up with this group of friends. And we had a special reason to meet up this time. One of them is moving out of town for further studies. So we don't know when the six of us will meet up again - probably not for a very long time.

So we had a sort of farewell lunch and then went out for a photo shoot which was a barrel of laughs. Mamagoto has this signature yellow tiger design which served as a good background for us! We even got someone to take a group pic which was like our "Friends" moment ;-)

Outfit of the day - Bodycon

Today's dress is one of my favorites. I bought it from Forever 21 while I was in New York. I love the navy blue colour of the dress and it has a really flattering cut. I have received loads of compliments whenever I have worn this dress :-)

To provide some colour, I added a long green shrug to the dress. And I paired it with my Sammydress purse. This is the cutest purse I have! It can be used as a purse, a clutch or a wristlet (Here I have shown it used as a purse and a clutch). It looks really great with dresses, jeans or trousers. And it has a lot of utility too. I can put in my cell, cash, change and cards. It still looks slim and cute :-) It is of a soft pink colour which goes well with pastels and dark colours. Phew! What more can you ask for from a purse? ;-)

I added a pair of leaf shaped earrings and my comfy nude pumps and I was done!

This is one of the most difficult shoots hubby and I have done. Both of us were just not satisfied with the backgrounds. So we shot at home and outside and I have put up pics from all the different places that we shot :-)

Outfit of the day - the purple bag

As the title suggests, the highlight of this outfit is the big purple fringe bag that I received from Sammydress. I love the gorgeous purple colour of the bag and the fringe :-) And its for less than $10!

I paired the bag with a grey maxi dress, a long necklace and magenta sandals. I added a pair of big earrings to complete the outfit.

My hair is a big mess in these pics because there was so much wind! Thankfully, the Romwe sunnies keep them somewhat in place :-)

Outfit of the Day - Black and gold

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I also received a dress from Choies. This dress has a PU panel at the top which looks like leather. Its a simple but elegant dress and fits very well :-)

I paired the dress with a chunky necklace, gold sandals and a yellow purse. Hope you like the OOTD!

PS: I took a longer break than normal in posting this time. This is because I am quite sick right now - have bronchitis :-( That's why I look so tired in the pics - sorry about that.

Outfit of the Day - Bright Blue + Statement Necklace

I bought this dress from Forever 21 some time back because I loved the bright blue colour and currently I am in love with pencil dresses which fall below the knees.

But this dress needed something to perk it up and I knew what it was when I received this gorgeous necklace from Choies. This necklace is so beautiful that even my in-laws and my mom, who are generally not very impressed with costume jewellery went ga-ga over it :-)

I am very impressed with the quality of the necklace, the packaging that Choies did and the speed with which this necklace and a dress I had ordered (to be featured in a post soon) were delivered. Overall, I find Choies to be a very good website for buying reasonably priced clothes and accessories (especially since they offer free shipping worldwide!). And after seeing this necklace, I will certainly be returning to Choies! :-)

With the brightness of the dress and the lovely statement necklace, I kept the rest of the styling simple, going for a white bag and nude pumps.
