Outfit of the Day - Double birthday glitter

The double birthday in the title refers to those of my father and brother. They have birthdays on consecutive days - first my father and then the next day my brother. So we generally have a combined family party on one of the days. This year, the party was on the day of my father's birthday :)

When I bought this sequins top in Spain, hubby had asked me where will you wear something so glittery. I had the same thought, but still bought it since I fell in love with it. And then I realized - a double birthday party is the perfect to place to wear something this glittery - right?

My father loved it, and my brother as usual made fun of it (you know how elder brothers are O_o !!). But anyways, I loved having an occasion to wear this top and having worn it once, I will now wear it even without occasion. Let people stare if they want :-p

Given how shiny the top was, I kept the accesories to a  minimum. Just paired it with a pair of jeans, my silver heels and a white clutch and I was done! :)

So do you like it? Or is it very overwhelming?

Outfit of the day - contrast with orange

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

I put on this outfit for meeting some friends recently, after which we went for dinner. I bought the dress during the August sales because I fell in love with the cotton fabric and the cut of the dress. Very rarely do I get dresses with a flare which do not make me look like a kid :-p

I accessorized the dress with a white crystal necklace from Aldo and my silver sandals. And to provide a contrast, I paired the outfit with this lovely orange purse I received from Blackfive. This vintage embossed PU-leather purse is definitely attention grabbing, and also perfect for carrying all the stuff that a lady generally 'must have' :-D It comes with a longer strap so that you can carry it cross body. And whats more, its available in 6 different colors! So check it out at Blackfive.

So what do you think of my OOTD?

PS: You will be seeing a lot of these silver sandals in coming posts ;-)

Outfit of the day - Gorgeous green

I bought this plain green dress from Forever 21 in the US. And I liked it so much that I bought the same dress in blue colour as well :-D (featured here). While I accessorized the blue dress with a statement necklace, I decided to do something different with the green dress.

The highlight of this outfit is the thick metal belt which breaks up the dress and provides visual appeal. I also added a pair of silver earrings and silver sandals and a white shrug to complete the outfit. Love the contrast of the white against the green!

So what do you think? Do you like this OOTD?

Outfit of the Day - Hubby and me

Today I am sharing outfit pics of the dress that I was wearing in the post - fun with friends.

As you might have noticed, I was wearing a hi-low dress with I paired with my beautiful Romwe earrings. Before going to Bandra, I went to meet my mom. She saw my dress and started laughing. She had seen other girls wearing hi-low dresses and found the uneven hemline really funny. She couldn't believe that I was wearing a dress like that!

Well .... I have nothing to say about that :D. I just laughed along with her.. Though she did call me later to say that I looked nice. Aren't moms the sweetest! :-)

PS: after seeing the pics, I realized that the hi-low dress actually makes me look short :(

Outfit of the day - Bohemian

Those living in Mumbai would know what October is like. It is sweltering hot! So while most of the Northern hemisphere is welcoming autumn, it is hot and sunny here. And that's the reason for my bright and sunny outfit today :)

Maxi skirts have been in fashion for quite sometime now. And the biggest advantage of maxi skirts for someone as tiny as me is that it makes me look tall. :) I paired my maxi skirt with a fitted tee, a jhola bag and a statement necklace for a stylish look.

Do you like my OOTD?

Outfit of the Day - Traditional Again

Today's outfit of the day consists of items from the recent sale haul.

As lamented before, getting traditional clothes in my size is next to impossible. Till date, all my traditional clothes (except the kurta from this post) have been stitched. So it was a pleasant surprise when I came across a kurta in XXS at Global Desi which fit! Also, I found churidars (leggings) which also fit!

And another discovery - the kurta and churidars are so comfortable! This was like having a triple scoop of my favorite ice-cream :)

Anyways, I wore this outfit to office and found it to be super comfy and stylish at the same. What more can one ask for?

So do you like my OOTD? (And yes, I am standing on the sofa in the last pic, just cause I felt like it :-p)

PS: Please ignore my hair. Humidity in the rainy season makes my hair curl and poof :-(

Outfit of the Day - Embroidery

When I saw the embroidered material, I knew I had to have it. So I bought it and decided to make a simple kurta out of it. Thankfully, the tailor made it very nicely :) (My tailor tends to never make my clothes in my size - they will be either very loose or very tight! And this is despite taking my measurement everytime I go to him. But overall, he is a talented tailor - so I continue with him...)

Since the kurta was so heavily embroidered, I kept the churidaar and dupatta very simple (for those who are unfamiliar, a dupatta is a piece of cloth worn over the shoulders with salwar-kameez or kurta-churidaar). I like the overall effect of balance this provides. And to keep it nice and traditional, I am wearing lovely jhumkis in my ears, a matching necklace and a bunch of bangles.

Hope you like this outfit! :)

Outfit of the Day - College times

I guess it is the cheery yellow of the T-shirt which reminded me of college days :) .. and hence the name.

Fridays are casual wear in office and so this is what I wore yesterday.

Belated Happy Birthday!! ......

.... to me!!!!!!!!!! .. Haha .. so you can see how lazy I am since I am late in posting on my own birthday :D

My birthday is on 31st December. Sigh!!! what a nice day to have a birthday right? last day of the year, everyone celebrating ... hmmm .. not exactly. While having a birthday on the last day of the year is exciting, it also means that most of your friends are never available to party that night! They are all busy at different new year parties :) The last time I had all my friends available for a birthday party and for partying all through the night with me was 2004! ... So you can imagine how I feel! Though I do have a darling hubby who is always there with me to make my day and make me feel extra awesome .. hehe.

But whatever said and done, this day does make me feel special (as it would for anyone who has a birthday on any day), but it makes me feel especially special since its the last day of the year. At least no one forgets my birthday! ;)

I believe that the end of a year is always exciting and awesome (of course partly due to the anticipation of gifts at the end of the year ;)). But by end of year, I do not mean just December .. I mean the last 3-4 months of the year. There are so many festivals - Ganesh Chathurti, Navratri, Dusshera, Diwali, Christmas .. wow! Also, the weather, particularly in humid Bombay, starts becoming cool and cozy. All these together make the end of every year very special for me. So this is how I looked at the start of December :D
