Outfit of the day - Red Leopard

The dress in today's post is from my recent haul. I managed to get the dresses altered and wore this leopard print dress when I visited the spa today for a facial.

Since the print of the dress is very busy, I kept the styling very simple with my black bag and a necklace. To keep the necklace from being a boring strand, I intertwined 2 strands together and wore as a necklace. I like the effect this gives and it also shortens the length of the necklace which suits this dress, I believe.

So what do you think of my OOTD? Does a long dress look good on me despite my petite structure? Would love to know your opinion. :-)

Outfit of the day - Pleats!

I was a bit skeptical when I bought this dress recently since I generally wear dresses with a pencil skirt as such dresses suit me the best. But I fell in love with this dress and decided to buy it.

I wore it to an engagement party and also to see the movie "2 States". And everyone, including my parents, in-laws, niece and friends loved it :-) But would love to know what you think about it!

And the surprising thing is, just after I bought the dress, I read that pleats are the in thing right now! I generally do not follow fashion trends and just wear what I like and feel comfortable in. So it was a lovely surprise to know that pleats are in trend and so are the big pearls :-) I paired the dress with the blue clutch from my recent haul post to provide that pop of colour.

The pics have been taken with the light behind me. As such, my face is in shadow but this shows off the dress beautifully. (all pic courtesy goes to hubby!)

Outfit of the day - Pinky pink

I know it is a very girly title. But my outfit had so many hues of pink, that this title seemed perfect ;-)

I had a lot of errands to run in the weekend - bank, tailor, library and lots more. So I put on this comfy nude pink tee with detailing around the neck. I paired it with a black pencil skirt, dangly silver earrings, a large pink tote and gold sandals. This outfit has a mix of silver and gold, but I believe they do not clash :-)

I did manage to get the maxi dresses from the previous post altered. So yay!!! And the oversized tote was perfect for carrying all the things I needed :-)

About long dresses and purses - Haul!

Those who are familiar with my blog will know that when it comes to dresses, I am most often found in knee length dresses, with a difference of an inch or two, here or there. I might sometimes wear a long dress/skirt, but generally stick to the knee length version.

A reason for that is my height of course. With my super petite frame, dresses beyond a certain length would make me look like a kid or a total frump. So I stick to what suits me best and what I am comfortable in.

But recently I have been obsessing about long dresses, the flirty ones and the sexy ones. And I guess retailers have understood the woes of someone of my size, cause suddenly I am finding long dresses that actually fit and look good!

Of course, all the dresses that you see below will need to be altered, but only for the length :) And these dresses actually make me look tall. So I am very very happy to share the pics from my recent haul which consists of long dresses and a few purses.

Will soon have these dresses altered and do outfit posts with them. Am really really looking forward to that. Now I just need to get some time one weekend to get these altered ;-)

I love that the animal print is on a red background rather than the usual orange or grey. And the striped dress is perfect for my petite frame since it makes me look taller ;-)
