Lovely boots from Shoespie

Recently, I have shown my favorite dresses from various websites. Today, I am going to show you some lovely boots that I came across at Shoespie. You can also check out the options available, just click here. The type and variety of boots I came across at Shoespie is huge. I wish I had come across this site before I went to Spain. I would have loved to show off one of the gorgeous boots there!

Shoespie has awesome cheap winter boots for sale - upto 75% off!. And like Monica said (quoting a "Friends" example here - I am huge fan!) - these boots will go with everything - jeans, skirts and dresses! :-) And its so true! See some of my favorite ones below and you will definitely believe it. I am so tempted to order a pair for myself - though Mumbai does not have cold enough weather to wear boots regularly!

In addition, Shoespie carries boots in really unique colours as well - like a gorgeous purple, aqua blue, multi-colour, etc!

So which one is your favorite?

Jabong.com review

I have been shopping online for the last 3-4 years, more so during the last year and a half. In general, I love the overall experience of shopping from physical shops. I want to apply touch and see what I plan to buy and also try on anything that I plan to buy. Then the question is, why online shopping?

There are many reasons for that. The range of products available online is quite extensive, there are many products (especially organic soaps, shampoos and other items) that are only available online, and the most important - there are generally fantastic sales at many of the websites.

I have of course been aware of Jabong.com. I had also been planning to shop from this site. So when they asked me to write a review for them, I jumped at the opportunity. Hubby and me were looking for a cover for his I-phone which were insanely expensive in the physical shops that we had visited. And lucky for us, there was a variety of covers available at Jabong.com. Also, while browsing through the site, I also liked a couple of earrings.

So we placed the order for the I-phone cover and the earrings and waited ...

I have divided my review into the 6 main parts below:

Christmas outfit

Top – Roaman’s , Skirt – BCBG, Earrings – Roaman’s, Purse – Valentino Garavani, Shoes – Giuseppe Zanotti, Watch - VOID, Jacket – Alice + Olivia

With Christmas coming up next week, I went to Polyvore and designed this outfit that I would love to wear for Christmas! Given my love for all things shiny (:-p), I paired a red sequin top (also available in plus sizes) with a sequin skirt. It might look like too much sequins, but it’s the holidays! :-D

Given the sequin overload, the simple silver Zanotti pumps looked perfect with the outfit. I added a touch of elegance with lovely onyx earrings and a gorgeous embroidered purse from Valentino Garavani. A white watch completed the look.

And with Mumbai also experiencing some cool winds (at last!), I added a fur jacket. The beauty is that even with the jacket on, the outfit will look co-ordinated and elegant.
Now all I wish is that I could actually have all these pieces by Christmas ;-)

So what do you think of my Christmas outfit? Too OTT or Quite elegant?

Outfit of the day - in Barcelona

I will continue writing about about our time in Spain in the next few posts. But before that, thought to show you one of the outfits I wore while we were in Barcelona.

The weather in Barcelona was very pleasant even though it was November. So a jacket and a pair of stockings were good enough to keep me warm.

The dress I am wearing is like a thick sweater which was perfect for the sunny but windy day. Since it was sleeveless, a white jacket kept me toasty warm during the day. And given the amount of walking required, I paired the dress with my gold flats.

So what do you think of my OOTD?

Vintage wedding dresses from Tbdress

Being a Hindu, I never had a white wedding of course. I got married in the traditional South Indian way. But I have always loved the white wedding dresses that brides wear in Christian weddings.

I keep the hope alive that maybe one day I will renew my vows wearing a gorgeous white gown. And so while browsing Tbdress, I was fascinated by the vintage wedding dresses available at Tbdress. These antique wedding dresses are so elegant and stunning that they took my breath away. And they are available in all possible styles, materials and silhouettes.

http://www.tbdress.com/Cheap-Vintage-Wedding-Dresses-5475/

And whats more, these vintage wedding dresses are available at very reasonable rates and are also deeply discounted. You can even get antique wedding dresses for sale under $100! So check out the below link.

Kid's bedding set at Tidebuy

I have a 4 year old nephew - a real cutie pie :-) (hubby's brother's son). Like most 4 year old boys, he is obsessed with trains, cars and aeroplanes. He is also obsessed with balloons, animals, and anything new that he comes across. So whenever hubby and I buy something for him, we first think whether this will stimulate him.

Knowing his obsessions, my mom generally gifts him cartoon towels which he has great fun playing with before they are used for his bath :-D So when I came across Tidebuy modern kid's bedding sets, I was really excited. Tidebuy kid's bedding sets come in pleasing prints like cars, animals and other cartoons which would keep any kid engaged and make going to bed fun :-)

Tidebuy also has modern bedding sets for boys and girls which come in more mature prints like flowers or checkers. I really loved the range of bedding sets available at Tidebuy and would suggest that you check out Tidebuy if you want to buy lovely bedding sets for kids in your family!

I have shared pics of some of the really cute ones below. Let me know what you think of them!

Spain travel - Toledo

 (Warning - picture heavy)

Toledo is a day trip from Madrid. But you can even choose to stay over in this lovely place. When we were planning our trip to Spain, I was mesmerized by the pics I saw of Toledo and so this city went onto our itinerary. While Toledo can be a day trip, it deserves a stay over as well. So in case you are going, and you plan to stay over, you won't regret it.

Isn't it gorgeous!!?? So we took a train from Madrid to Toledo and booked our return ticket for that day as well (EUR20 per person). Once we reached Toledo, we went to the tourist information centre at the station and booked the tickets for main attractions that we wished to see. We also got out city map - the lifeline! (Anyone familiar with Europe would know that the city map and the metro map are the 2 must have maps in any city :-))

After that, we took a taxi from the station to the city centre (Plaza de Zocodover). From the main plaza, one can go anywhere in Toledo. One of the best things you can do in Toledo is take one of the narrow lanes and just get lost - and once you have had enough, you can ask the way back to the main plaza :-)

We first took the land train which is the perfect way to get a full view of Toledo. The train ride includes an audio tour and the train will also stop at one place at the edge of the city where you will a gorgeous view of the city.

Elegant dresses with long length for Evening Dinner at Weddingshe

Elegant dresses with long length for evening dinner are a weakness of mine. An elegant gown flowing around me while I walk down a long staircase ... what a fantasy! Totally out of a fairy tale :D

And why am I raving about elegant dresses with long length for evening dinner? Well, I came across a site called Weddingshe.com which has really beautiful dresses. It has stylish dresses in a wide range of colors and silhouettes which are perfect for a variety of occasions - prom, party, romantic dinner or even a wedding.

There are a host of benefits of shopping at Weddingshe - it stocks the perfect accessories (shoes, jewelry, gloves, jackets) to go with the perfect dress, it is currently having a website wide sale (up to 80% off!), and it offers worldwide shipping. And if you register now, you will get a $5 coupon too.

Vacation haul

How can I travel without shopping!!?? Right? ;-)

After so many years together, hubby dearest also understands this :-D So he readily let me take a half empty suitcase on our vacation cause he knew that there is no stopping me. In fact, he was a real darling and helped me in my shopping .. so sweet na? :-)

My last few trips have been official and hence I have been alone when exploring a new city. While that has its own charm, I was so happy to have my better half with me this time ... it was more fun exploring and also shopping! And he has a very good eye for what looks good on me - which means a perfect hubby for a blogger :-D

So before I share stories and pictures of our vacation, I will share pics of my haul. For some reason, I went nuts about purses on this trip and so there are not many clothes in this haul.

Hope you like my haul. Do let me know what you liked best!

PS: Can anyone guess where we went on vacation based on the pics? The clue is in one of the pics (a very easy clue) :-)

First up are the purses - have taken a special liking to smooth and shiny bags. And always wanted a round bag. Found the perfect one!

I am alive!

Hello Peeps! I know I disappeared like forever. Sorry for that. I was on vacation for the last 2 weeks and before that work for so hectic (like it always is JUST before a vacation :p) that I was working 15-16 hours a day and did not have any time at all!!!

Thankfully, I have had a refreshing vacation and am back to the grind :-(

Will update you folks on my trip in the next few posts. I have so many travel posts pending! My vacation trip, my trip to Korea and my trip to New York last year - phew! So be ready to be bombarded with travel pics in the coming posts :-D

And I will be diligently visiting your blogs to see what you have been up to! So looking forward to that :-)

For now, I will leave you with a few pics of hubby and me ... Hope you like them!

Outfit of the day - Fishtail

As the title suggests, the highlight of this outfit is the fishtail skirt. I am a big fan of fishtail dresses/skirts and the colour and pattern of this skirt with a few colourful ribbons at one side make me love it even more. This skirt is just so feminine and it makes me feel tall (a big plus obviously :D)

I paired the skirt with a bright pink tank, a Kashmiri embroidered purse and multiple crystal necklaces. These necklaces are a gift from my mom. She got me more than 20 of these crsytal necklaces in different colours! Since a single necklace does not make that much of an impact, I paired 3-4 of these necklaces. Love the layered effect and the colour scheme that this provides :)

So what do you think of my OOTD?

Look like a Princess @ Aviva Dress

Watch any Disney fairy tale and you will be mesmerized by the lovely gowns that the Disney princesses wear. I still remember Sleeping Beauty's gown which kept changing colour as per the whims of the fairies who created it :-)

As a kid, it was my dream to have a gown like a Disney princess. When I came across the beautiful prom dresses at Aviva Dress, it reminded me of the Disney princess gowns. Aviva Dress has long prom dresses, short prom dresses, evening dresses and a lot more. And the best part, the dresses can be customized as per your requirements - both for colour and size. That means I can actually get one of these beautiful dresses in my size; and not have to fret about whether one of the universal sizes will fit me or not :)

Sharing below a few of my favorites!
Love the understated elegance of these two dresses. And the colors of both the gowns are to die for! The detailing on the neckline of the purple gown stands out and the muted golden gown is perfect in its simplicity. Can't decide which one I like more.

Favorite pants at Tbdress

Most of my posts here generally feature me in dresses. That does not mean that I do not like trousers/pants. Its just that due to size and fit issues, I own very few pants. But while browsing through Tbdress, I came across a diverse lot of options in women's pants. And whats more, these are really cheap pants, and that too in the latest styles. Check out the link below!

http://www.tbdress.com/Cheap-Women-Pants-100509/

Below is a collage of my favorites at Tbdress.

1. Corduroy pants with elastic pockets - for the perfect casual look. Tuck in a formal white shirt and pair with some heels and you are good for a party or shopping!

2. Flower print slim short trousers - perfect for a picnic or for running errands - simple and totally stylish

3. Black slim trousers with zipper detail at the pockets - adding the right funk to simple black pants

4. Side split harem pants - for the casual and sexy look. Best for just lazing around or bogeying at a party :-) I can imagine a lovely gold sequined top as the perfect match to these

5. Slim casual pants with a curve at the waistline - tuck in a tank or a lace top and show off your waist in this one.

6. High waisted black pants - show off your long legs, look taller and flatter your tiny waist. All this with just a pair of pants!

These are just a few of my favorites. And with a price tag of less than $25, they sure are irresistible! What do you think?

Outfit of the day - contrast with orange

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

I put on this outfit for meeting some friends recently, after which we went for dinner. I bought the dress during the August sales because I fell in love with the cotton fabric and the cut of the dress. Very rarely do I get dresses with a flare which do not make me look like a kid :-p

I accessorized the dress with a white crystal necklace from Aldo and my silver sandals. And to provide a contrast, I paired the outfit with this lovely orange purse I received from Blackfive. This vintage embossed PU-leather purse is definitely attention grabbing, and also perfect for carrying all the stuff that a lady generally 'must have' :-D It comes with a longer strap so that you can carry it cross body. And whats more, its available in 6 different colors! So check it out at Blackfive.

So what do you think of my OOTD?

PS: You will be seeing a lot of these silver sandals in coming posts ;-)

Garnier BB cream - my experience

On my recent visit to Korea, I was speaking with a female colleague and admired her skin. She is in her late thirties, but has gorgeous skin. She mentioned that she puts five "lotions" in the morning before leaving the house. And in my mind, I was like ... Five!!!

She asked me what lotion I use. Now I am the sort who hates anything on her face. I cannot bear to put creams cause they are greasy. I do not even use sunscreen (I know that's really bad!). So when I told her this, her expression was one of pure horror and I got a small lecture on the importance of taking care of my skin.

That started me thinking. What she said was true. But the problem is that I cannot bear cream on my face :-(

And then came this Indiblogger event with Garnier BB Cream. I have of course seen the ads of Garnier BB Cream and always thought it was a smart move to combine moisturizer with foundation (especially for people like me who cannot imagine putting 2-3 layers of stuff on their face!). But I did not take the effort to try it out.

So when I got a sample of the BB Cream, I was excited to try it out - my colleague's words on using lotion were still fresh in my mind.

And how was my experience??? Well, in one word, it was awesome!

Traditional Diwali with Myntra

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

I have mentioned it on my blog before - I love the second half of the year. Why? Because of the festivals and the holidays!!! In India especially, there are so many festivals in the second half, including the biggest one of all - Diwali!

Diwali is a festival of lights. It celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Traditionally it was celebrated by lighting oil lamps inside and outside the house, visiting relatives and eating loads of sweets. :-) The festival has gotten more commercialized now - electric lights, too many noisy crackers, and not enough family time. But I still celebrate it in the traditional way by lighting lamps and spending time with my family.

In the bygone days, when people were not very rich and there was not loads of money to throw around, Diwali was the one time in the year when everyone got new clothes and wore it on the day of Lakshmi Puja. I remember my mom's stories - she used to be so excited to get the first of her two new dresses of the year during Diwali (the other was for her birthday). :-)

Obviously, now we get new clothes whenever we like. But still there is something special about the new clothes that you get for Diwali. And there are so many options available - both in stores and online!

Outfit of the day - for Haider

For those unfamiliar with Bollywood, Haider is a recent Bollywood movie which is an adaption of Shakespeare's Hamlet. The film is beautifully shot and the acting of the main characters is superb. It is set against the backdrop of Kashmir and the end will leave you disturbed. But the movie is a definite watch, especially to see how the director, Vishal Bhardwaj, has adapted the play to fit a piece of Indian history.

To see the movie, I wore my current favorite black top and a long wrap-around skirt which has traditional Indian shlokas written on it. The top is my current favorite since it is extremely hot in Mumbai and this top with lacy shoulder straps and a deep back is perfect to beat the heat. The long skirt is also perfect as it does not stick to the body and also keeps me warm in the cold theater :-)

I accessorized with a black and white choker necklace and my brown clutch. Have kept the look simple since the skirt makes quite an impact!

So what do you think of my OOTD? And have you seen Haider?

Dresses for special occasions

I always like the second half of the year. That's because in India, the second half of the year is full of festivals - and I just love it! This means 2 things - you get many leaves ;-) and you have many occasions to wear new and special clothes :-)

Most of the festivals would require me to wear traditional Indian clothes. But at Christmas (we celebrate all festivals in India!), its the time for special occasion dresses! And I can imagine being dressed to the nines in a beautiful gown to celebrate. And since my birthday falls at the end of the year, even more reason for me to dress up and celebrate ;-)

So I browsed through the special occasion dresses available at Tbdress and lost my heart to so many of them. Most of them can be worn for red carpet events, they are so gorgeous! Check out the below link and let me know which ones you are drooling over :-)

Outfit of the day - Gorgeous green

I bought this plain green dress from Forever 21 in the US. And I liked it so much that I bought the same dress in blue colour as well :-D (featured here). While I accessorized the blue dress with a statement necklace, I decided to do something different with the green dress.

The highlight of this outfit is the thick metal belt which breaks up the dress and provides visual appeal. I also added a pair of silver earrings and silver sandals and a white shrug to complete the outfit. Love the contrast of the white against the green!

So what do you think? Do you like this OOTD?

Bollywood by Design @ Minawala

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a blogger meet organized by Minawala in association with White Marquee. The purpose of the meet was to launch their Bollywood by Design collection - an exquisite diamond jewellery collection which involves a lot of colour and some unique statement pieces.

Along with ogling the collection and trying out the pieces that attracted us, the bloggers also got to meet the owner of Minawala. He explained a bit of the history of his brand and his passion. Minawala focuses only on diamond jewellery and does not offer anything in gold. Also, Minawala is different in that it creates exclusive designs for its own collection, unlike other brands which buy designs from wholesalers. So what you find at Minawala will be truly unique; something you will not find anywhere else. Its no wonder that Minawala has won so many awards for its designs!

Beautiful satin bedding sets at Tidebuy

Do you remember those fairy tales in which there was a beautiful princess who lived in a castle and had a lovely bedroom? I used to dream of living in a castle with a room of my own and a pretty bed and a huge closet. And in those dreams, my bed was covered with lovely shiny (I didn't know what satin was as a kid :-p) bedsheets with matching pillow cases!

Even when I visited castles in Europe, I was fascinated by the lovely bedspreads used by the kings and queens. So when Tidebuy sent me a link to their satin bedspreads, I was once again caught up in my dreams. They have Tidebuy satin bedding sets, Tidebuy satin comforter sets and Tidebuy satin comforters, and in such beautiful colours and even more attractive prices!

Currently I use cotton bed sheets, but I sure am tempted by what Tidebuy has on offer. So I am sharing a few of my favorites with you. Let me know which is your favorite :-)
