Favorite pants at Tbdress

Most of my posts here generally feature me in dresses. That does not mean that I do not like trousers/pants. Its just that due to size and fit issues, I own very few pants. But while browsing through Tbdress, I came across a diverse lot of options in women's pants. And whats more, these are really cheap pants, and that too in the latest styles. Check out the link below!

Below is a collage of my favorites at Tbdress.

1. Corduroy pants with elastic pockets - for the perfect casual look. Tuck in a formal white shirt and pair with some heels and you are good for a party or shopping!

2. Flower print slim short trousers - perfect for a picnic or for running errands - simple and totally stylish

3. Black slim trousers with zipper detail at the pockets - adding the right funk to simple black pants

4. Side split harem pants - for the casual and sexy look. Best for just lazing around or bogeying at a party :-) I can imagine a lovely gold sequined top as the perfect match to these

5. Slim casual pants with a curve at the waistline - tuck in a tank or a lace top and show off your waist in this one.

6. High waisted black pants - show off your long legs, look taller and flatter your tiny waist. All this with just a pair of pants!

These are just a few of my favorites. And with a price tag of less than $25, they sure are irresistible! What do you think?

Outfit of the day - contrast with orange

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

I put on this outfit for meeting some friends recently, after which we went for dinner. I bought the dress during the August sales because I fell in love with the cotton fabric and the cut of the dress. Very rarely do I get dresses with a flare which do not make me look like a kid :-p

I accessorized the dress with a white crystal necklace from Aldo and my silver sandals. And to provide a contrast, I paired the outfit with this lovely orange purse I received from Blackfive. This vintage embossed PU-leather purse is definitely attention grabbing, and also perfect for carrying all the stuff that a lady generally 'must have' :-D It comes with a longer strap so that you can carry it cross body. And whats more, its available in 6 different colors! So check it out at Blackfive.

So what do you think of my OOTD?

PS: You will be seeing a lot of these silver sandals in coming posts ;-)

Garnier BB cream - my experience

On my recent visit to Korea, I was speaking with a female colleague and admired her skin. She is in her late thirties, but has gorgeous skin. She mentioned that she puts five "lotions" in the morning before leaving the house. And in my mind, I was like ... Five!!!

She asked me what lotion I use. Now I am the sort who hates anything on her face. I cannot bear to put creams cause they are greasy. I do not even use sunscreen (I know that's really bad!). So when I told her this, her expression was one of pure horror and I got a small lecture on the importance of taking care of my skin.

That started me thinking. What she said was true. But the problem is that I cannot bear cream on my face :-(

And then came this Indiblogger event with Garnier BB Cream. I have of course seen the ads of Garnier BB Cream and always thought it was a smart move to combine moisturizer with foundation (especially for people like me who cannot imagine putting 2-3 layers of stuff on their face!). But I did not take the effort to try it out.

So when I got a sample of the BB Cream, I was excited to try it out - my colleague's words on using lotion were still fresh in my mind.

And how was my experience??? Well, in one word, it was awesome!

Traditional Diwali with Myntra

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

I have mentioned it on my blog before - I love the second half of the year. Why? Because of the festivals and the holidays!!! In India especially, there are so many festivals in the second half, including the biggest one of all - Diwali!

Diwali is a festival of lights. It celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Traditionally it was celebrated by lighting oil lamps inside and outside the house, visiting relatives and eating loads of sweets. :-) The festival has gotten more commercialized now - electric lights, too many noisy crackers, and not enough family time. But I still celebrate it in the traditional way by lighting lamps and spending time with my family.

In the bygone days, when people were not very rich and there was not loads of money to throw around, Diwali was the one time in the year when everyone got new clothes and wore it on the day of Lakshmi Puja. I remember my mom's stories - she used to be so excited to get the first of her two new dresses of the year during Diwali (the other was for her birthday). :-)

Obviously, now we get new clothes whenever we like. But still there is something special about the new clothes that you get for Diwali. And there are so many options available - both in stores and online!

Outfit of the day - for Haider

For those unfamiliar with Bollywood, Haider is a recent Bollywood movie which is an adaption of Shakespeare's Hamlet. The film is beautifully shot and the acting of the main characters is superb. It is set against the backdrop of Kashmir and the end will leave you disturbed. But the movie is a definite watch, especially to see how the director, Vishal Bhardwaj, has adapted the play to fit a piece of Indian history.

To see the movie, I wore my current favorite black top and a long wrap-around skirt which has traditional Indian shlokas written on it. The top is my current favorite since it is extremely hot in Mumbai and this top with lacy shoulder straps and a deep back is perfect to beat the heat. The long skirt is also perfect as it does not stick to the body and also keeps me warm in the cold theater :-)

I accessorized with a black and white choker necklace and my brown clutch. Have kept the look simple since the skirt makes quite an impact!

So what do you think of my OOTD? And have you seen Haider?

Dresses for special occasions

I always like the second half of the year. That's because in India, the second half of the year is full of festivals - and I just love it! This means 2 things - you get many leaves ;-) and you have many occasions to wear new and special clothes :-)

Most of the festivals would require me to wear traditional Indian clothes. But at Christmas (we celebrate all festivals in India!), its the time for special occasion dresses! And I can imagine being dressed to the nines in a beautiful gown to celebrate. And since my birthday falls at the end of the year, even more reason for me to dress up and celebrate ;-)

So I browsed through the special occasion dresses available at Tbdress and lost my heart to so many of them. Most of them can be worn for red carpet events, they are so gorgeous! Check out the below link and let me know which ones you are drooling over :-)

Outfit of the day - Gorgeous green

I bought this plain green dress from Forever 21 in the US. And I liked it so much that I bought the same dress in blue colour as well :-D (featured here). While I accessorized the blue dress with a statement necklace, I decided to do something different with the green dress.

The highlight of this outfit is the thick metal belt which breaks up the dress and provides visual appeal. I also added a pair of silver earrings and silver sandals and a white shrug to complete the outfit. Love the contrast of the white against the green!

So what do you think? Do you like this OOTD?

Bollywood by Design @ Minawala

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a blogger meet organized by Minawala in association with White Marquee. The purpose of the meet was to launch their Bollywood by Design collection - an exquisite diamond jewellery collection which involves a lot of colour and some unique statement pieces.

Along with ogling the collection and trying out the pieces that attracted us, the bloggers also got to meet the owner of Minawala. He explained a bit of the history of his brand and his passion. Minawala focuses only on diamond jewellery and does not offer anything in gold. Also, Minawala is different in that it creates exclusive designs for its own collection, unlike other brands which buy designs from wholesalers. So what you find at Minawala will be truly unique; something you will not find anywhere else. Its no wonder that Minawala has won so many awards for its designs!

Beautiful satin bedding sets at Tidebuy

Do you remember those fairy tales in which there was a beautiful princess who lived in a castle and had a lovely bedroom? I used to dream of living in a castle with a room of my own and a pretty bed and a huge closet. And in those dreams, my bed was covered with lovely shiny (I didn't know what satin was as a kid :-p) bedsheets with matching pillow cases!

Even when I visited castles in Europe, I was fascinated by the lovely bedspreads used by the kings and queens. So when Tidebuy sent me a link to their satin bedspreads, I was once again caught up in my dreams. They have Tidebuy satin bedding sets, Tidebuy satin comforter sets and Tidebuy satin comforters, and in such beautiful colours and even more attractive prices!

Currently I use cotton bed sheets, but I sure am tempted by what Tidebuy has on offer. So I am sharing a few of my favorites with you. Let me know which is your favorite :-)
