Outfit of the Day - its a Wrap!

Today is Raksha Bandhan. This festival celebrates the relationship between a brother and sister. Translated literally, it means Bond of protection. In this festival, the sister ties a rakhi (holy thread) around her brother's wrist and the brother gives a gift in return. With this ceremony, the brother also vows to protect his sister :) I love this festival because of the love it celebrates between a brother and his sister/s.

Hubby's sister came over on Sunday to tie rakhi cause she would be busy in office today. Afterwards, we took her out for an evening of fun. We sure had a blast!

Coming to the topic of the post, I wore a wrap around skirt for the outing. The wrap around skirt in the below outfit is quite old, but I love the colour and design of the skirt. I paired the skirt with a black tee and some matching jewellery and I was good to go!

    That is so sweet to have a festival dedicated to the unique bonds between siblings. I absolutely love all indian celebrations... I feel like the festivals truly celebrate the meaning of love and humanity. A couple years ago a few of my indian friends invited me to celebrate some sort of color festival (I forget what it's called), but I came home that day covered in paint and as happy as could be :)
