All of you who read my previous 2 posts about starting a new life and about my best friend know that I had to rebel against my mom's wish to get me married off to do my MBA. Some of you might have thought that she was harsh. And maybe she was.
But since the time I completed my MBA, my mom has been my rock. Even before I completed my MBA, mom realized that her little girl had grown up and could take her own decisions. And since then she became my guide. She does try to impose her decisions on me sometimes (which mom doesn't!), but she is also happy when I do my own thing :-)
Doing my MBA was one of the first big challenges in life. And even there, once mom understood that I was determined, she was totally supportive. Dad and mom came along with me when I had to go for interviews outside the city for my MBA and they were both so patient when my emotions were swinging like a pendulum due to stress.
Since MBA, I have done my CFA, have faced multiple challenges at work, have got married and learnt to understand what marriage means (compromise!), changed jobs, changed teams within jobs, and so many other big and small things. And all through these changes, there has been one constant - my mom.
Whenever I am upset or cannot decide what to do, I call my mom. She is always so calm and optimistic. No matter how bad the situation looks to me, she always sees the positive in it and makes me feel positive. She is one person who will never let me to look at the negative side. She believes in "everything happens for the best."
She has helped me take so many important decisions in life. So when I am stressed, I think of my mom. If I cannot immediately speak with her, I bring her calm face to my mind. I think of what she would tell me to do. And everything seems alright then. It makes me remember that nothing is all that important in life. The important thing is to live life to the fullest and not let small or big things make drastic changes to my life.
For me, God speaks through my mom. So whenever I cannot make a decision, I speak with my mom, and through her, with God. She is my optimism, she is my life. :-)
Housing.com also envisions a world filled with positivity and optimism. It believes that optimism can be found all around - in the laughter of children, in the smile of your loved ones when you go back home after months of being away, and for me - in my mom.
Love you, mom!
