I love trying natural stuff to enhance beauty rather than creams. The only cream I use consistenly is a body lotion and that's cause I spend 12-13 hours in an air conditioned office which sucks the moisture from my skin.
So I came across Omved Ubtan (sort of a cleanser) on another blog and decided to give it a try. And I am so glad I did! Read on to find out why.
Price: INR120 for 50gm (bought it from the Omved store. Also available online)
Ingredients: green lentil (moong) 24%, black lentil (udad) 24%, red sandalwood 24%, white sandalwood 24%, turmeric root 4%
I use the ubtan once in 2 weeks and I find that this is good enough. I am scared to use ubtans too often in case it damages the skin. But, once in 2 weeks is fine. In fact, Omved ubtan can actually be used more often. This ubtan is slightly grainy and smells lightly of sandalwood. I find the smell quite heavenly :)
I mix my ubtan with the Fabindia rose water and regular water and make a thin paste which I then apply to my face and neck. The ubtan needs to be kept for only for 2-3 minutes. I then wash off using water and rubbing it in a circular motion on my face till all the ubtan is gone.
And the result is - beautifully glowing and smooth skin! In fact, the first time I used it, a couple of people in office actually asked me whether I had used a special scream or had a facial done! It is that good :)

Pros:
- Completely natural ingredients with a light earthy smell which is very pleasant.
- Very easy to use and no hassle in making the paste or in application.
- Comes off easily and does not leave any stains on the skin.
- It provides light exfoliation and is not harsh on the skin.
- Provides glowing, radiant and smooth skin which I can't help touching again and again.
- While 50gms is a small amount, I got about 20 uses out of one pack. So not at all expensive - yippee!
- In case you want to splurge, the ubtan can be used all over the body to get smooth arms, legs and body.
- Storage might be an issue due to the packaging. I made a small cut on one corner (as can be seen in the pic) and staple it after every use. The package stands up independently, so I just staple it and put it back on the shelf.

DeleteWow I'm up for anything that makes the skin glow - I love anything that offers a bit of exfoliation too. This is a great review, I've not actually heard of the brand before, but it definitely looks like it is worth a try. I will have a look online.
