Day 3: Batu Caves + Genting Highlands

On Day 3, the agenda was Batu Caves and then on to Genting Highlands.

Batu Caves are natural caves which were converted into temples in 1980. To reach the caves, one needs to climb 272 steps. The steps are heavy and my suggestion would be to take it easy while climbing. You will definitely be tired when you reach the top. There is also a 140 ft high statue of Lord Murugan which is the main attraction at the caves.

It was wonderful to visit Hindu temples outside India. :) Hope you enjoy the pictures below after which I will write about Genting Highlands.

Genting Highlands: Genting Highlands, also known as Resorts World Genting, is a hill resort in Malaysia. It is built on a mountain peak 6,100 ft high. So if you are going there, do carry a jacket! It can be reached by a car or by cable car (Genting Skyway).

There are 5 hotels there, one of them being First World Hotel (where we lived), which is one of the largest hotels in the world (6,118 rooms). It has outdoor and indoor theme parks which is where we spent our afternoon. Then we went to our room, had a nap and after dinner, hit the casino! As expected, we ended up losing quite some money there ... of course! :) Overall, Genting Highlands is fun and for people who don't like rides that much (like us), the casino is the main attraction.

First World Hotel
