For the love of Soap!

Most of you don't know it, but a big passion of mine, other than clothes that is, is soaps. Yes, you read that right .. I said soaps! :-D

I was introduced to the world of organic and natural soaps by a fellow blogger. After reading reviews of some organic soaps and doing more research online, I decided to give it a try. And there was no looking back after that :-)

That was 2 years ago.Today, hubby and I do not use any commercial soaps. Not that all the soaps are totally natural, but they are free of many harmful chemicals found in commercial soaps - particularly SLS.

So without much ado, here are my soaps ;-)

Soulflower: Soulflower is the first organic soap brand I tried. And I sure got hooked :-) After this, I tried Vaadi (a much cheaper brand) and Neev (reasonably priced). Among these, Soulflower is my favorite.

From left to right - Vaadi, Soulflower, Neev

Puresense: This brand is reasonably priced (compared to Soulflower) and the soaps smell heavenly! Even my father has become a fan of these soaps - so now its my duty to provide these to my parents, since the availability is mainly online.

Studiowest: This is the inhouse brand of Westlife. I was quite surprised to discover that Westlife manufactures soaps, but bought a couple of them to try them out. I quite liked them and these soaps also have a wonderful smell. Quite different from Puresense, but still very fruity and refreshing.

I have not yet used the remaining brands in this post. But so looking forward to trying them out!

Dear Earth: Have read some really good reviews about Dear Earth. So eager to try them out. This brand is again quite expensive, as much as Soulflower.

Biotique: This was an impulse purchase. Have not read any reviews on Biotique. So let's see how this one turns out. And not sure whether Biotique has any other variants because this (Bio Almond Oil) is the only one I saw at all the outlets.

Khadi: This is quite a well known brand in India and also sells face masks along with soaps. Waiting to see how these turn out.

Like I cannot help but buy clothes when I travel, the same applies to soaps as well. So below are the ones that I collected during my trips abroad but have not tried out yet.

US: I visited an Amish village while I was in the US. And at the end of our trip through the village, we were taken to a shop run by the Amish. The only thing I bought, other than some delicious ice-cream, were some soaps ;-)

Spain: Of all places, I ended up buying soaps from a souvenir shop in Madrid :-D These are actually travel size soaps. Since everything is written in Spanish, I don't even know whether these are natural or organic soaps. But liked the look and smell, so bought a couple ;-)

So as you can see, I am kind of nuts about soaps :-D ... And if you would like me to review any of these soaps, just leave me a comment and I will put up a review as soon as I have used that particular soap.

And have you tried any of these? Which one is your favorite? Let me know!

Actually, I make my own soap home! I learned this, since my skin started to react bad for commercial soaps...

  2. I havent tried any of these but it´s really interesting to read about it ;). I have read somewhere that if you use the good ones, you can have more beautiful nails and skin around it. So I will look for some of them. The indians ones look nice. BEAUTYPUSINKA
