Outfit of the Day - Embroidery

When I saw the embroidered material, I knew I had to have it. So I bought it and decided to make a simple kurta out of it. Thankfully, the tailor made it very nicely :) (My tailor tends to never make my clothes in my size - they will be either very loose or very tight! And this is despite taking my measurement everytime I go to him. But overall, he is a talented tailor - so I continue with him...)

Since the kurta was so heavily embroidered, I kept the churidaar and dupatta very simple (for those who are unfamiliar, a dupatta is a piece of cloth worn over the shoulders with salwar-kameez or kurta-churidaar). I like the overall effect of balance this provides. And to keep it nice and traditional, I am wearing lovely jhumkis in my ears, a matching necklace and a bunch of bangles.

Hope you like this outfit! :)

Kurta material - Vandana in Bandra, necklace and earrings - from Gujarat (Shreenathji), bangles - available at any jewellery store in Mumbai

    1. Thank you Colleen! :) Actually, given my tiny size (I am only 4 feet 9), I rarely get Indian traditional clothes in my size. I always have to get them tailored :)
